This course will cover: Agriculture and nutrition, problems and constraints of food production, food and nutrition security with emphasis on Nigeria, and roles of individuals, organization and government. Concept of Food System. Post-harvest handling. Agriculture, industry, food distribution and economic development. Biodiversity, dietary diversification, agricultural value chain. Functional foods, bio-fortification etc. Genetically Modified Foods. Nutrition and Climate change. Phytochemicals in Human Nutrition.
