During this course, students will be introduced to the fundamental principles of diet therapy including the history, aims, scope, and roles of Dietitians in health care system. They will be exposed to different therapeutic diets such as fluid diet, soft diets, low residue diet, low calorie diet, high fibre diet etc. There will be special emphasis on diseases with nutritional etiology and medical nutrition therapy. Such diseases include Renal diseases, Febrile conditions and infections, diseases of the GIT, Obesity and Underweight, Diabetes Mellitus, Aneamia and Cardiovascular diseases.
