This session discusses the embryology of the gastrointestinal tract and liver as well as the physiological and pathological basis of diseases. In addition, the life cycle approach will be the basis for discussing nutrition.
Specifically we will discuss liver diseases in childhood including conjugated hyperbilirubinaemia and viral hepatitides.
Normal and abnormal nutrition, and growth chart will be discussed and importance of deviations from normal.
